Pick your text version carefully.\u003C\/b\u003E The fewer errors it has, the less time it will take to transmogrify it into your new, improved version. I suggest getting the .epub version, as it's already converted to html\/xml, so is straight text.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cb\u003E2. The .doc and .rtf coming out of \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/calibre-ebook.com\/download\" target=\"_blank\"\u003ECalibre\u003C\/a\u003E won't have images.) Involving Calibre at this early stage sets you up for publishing ease later.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cb\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003C\/b\u003E\n\u003Cb\u003E3. Open it up in \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/www.libreoffice.org\/download\" target=\"_blank\"\u003ELibre(Open)Office\u003C\/a\u003E and edit it into shape.\u003C\/b\u003E This is so you can use the Writer2Epub plug-in to make an epub out of it. Fastest is to strip the earlier formatting out of it and then go through it chapter by chapter, adding headings as you do. These headings will make your Table of Contents when you export it. Use search\/replace and style sheets to get it uniform and reading easily. (I set up the page as 6x9, as that approximates a tablet's view - and is trade paperback size, for later export.)\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cb\u003E4. Only the print version wants a 300dpi version, the rest are all 72dpi for web. (Technical enough for you? Compile your description and all other vital data into Calibre.\u003C\/b\u003E Your cover and description are what really sells the book - or gets the potential buyer to view the preview. Leave the Calibre metadata page open, as this is where all the data you'll need for posting your books will be readily available.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cb\u003E6.
